Terms of service
We want to make this as simple as possible, so before we get to the legal bit, this is a quick summary (the lawyers tell us that we should point out that this summary does not prejudice the actual agreement, we're just trying to make things easier).
This is a hire/exchange scheme, so you choose a new bike or a refurbished bike (reBike), then pay monthly on a long term hire agreement. We actively encourage you to exchange the bike as your child grows. All our bikes are well maintained and looked after to the highest standard. We want your child to love cycling our bikes, so we work hard to make sure they are in excellent condition for you. You can cancel at any time, there is a fee for the collection of the bike.
In summary, this is how our service works:
- You need a bike for your child, so you have come to us
- You choose a bike based on your child’s size
- We provide you with the bike and you pay monthly
- This is a hire/exchange scheme, so instead of paying upfront you pay monthly and hire the bike on a long-term basis
- When your child grows out of a bike, come back to us to arrange an exchange. We then send you the next size up and collect the used bike
- When you come to exchange we charge a delivery fee, this is to keep monthly payments low
- You can choose whether you want a new bike or a reBike. New bikes cost slightly more per month than reBikes
- Our reBikes are used bikes returned from members which have been refurbished to a good and safe standard by professional bike mechanics
- The accessories for our reBikes depend on what the bike is returned back to us with. Because of this we cannot guarantee accessories for our reBikes
- When you exchange your bike for a bigger one your monthly fee is likely to increase, this is because it’s a bigger bike and costs more
- Don’t worry though, you’ll know what the new monthly fee will be before you process your exchange
- You can cancel at anytime by returning the bike. There is a fee to help cover the cost of collecting the bike
- What happens if my bike gets stolen? If you are with Bike Club Plus you only need to pay the total loss amount. If you are not with Bike Club Plus you will need to pay the current value of the bike
- With maintenance, whilst you have the bike you are responsible for looking after it unless you have Bike Club Plus when we will cover minor repairs
- When you come to exchange we expect a reasonable level of wear and tear - these are children's bikes after all. However if there is additional damage we will need to raise the cost with you. We don't like charging members for this and would recommend Bike Club Plus to avoid any such costs
- We want to keep you as a customer – so we’ll always work hard to keep you happy
- Now time for the legal bit, if you ever have any questions just email us on info@bikeclub.com.
